ABOUT ME
How it all started.
Hi Im Jess, Creator of Wild Wire. After spending the last 10 years as an Audio Visual Engineer I started my venture in the world of jewellery and sculptures. Having spent a lot of time working with cables from building new ones to running them in beautiful venues; it was only a matter of time before scrap materials became my next crafting idea. Doing further research I discovered a whole world of crafts with wire and and haven't stopped since.

Once honing in on my craft I found creating with wire therapeutic. I now still work as an AV Engineer but spend my spare time creating and designing my next project.
MATERIALS AND PROCESS
JEWELLERY

All pieces are 925 Sterling Silver wire (including chains and earring hooks) all sourced from 100% recycled silver. My goal is producing a product that's zero waste to produce. This meaning that instead of chucking out scraggly bits of wire that are no longer in use, I save every millimetre and take is back to my original supplier to be melted down and turned into new wire to work with giving me a full cycle and a Zero waste product.

Accompanying a lot of my pieces are semi precious gemstones and fossils. Due to natural form even when creating the same wire piece they will always look a little different when comparing colour or shape.

SCULPTURES
These are made from various gauges of galvanised steel wire. When required i do add in a plinth in order to get the right composition this can comprise of other metals, wood, cement or stone.
Although most sculptures take on the female form, inspiration derives from various places. My personal head space is a huge reflector on my sculptures from feeling alone to feeling empowered, my work is undoubtly a solace for me.
PROCESS
As an artist process can honestly feel very tricky to up hold. I typically design most of my pieces via classic pen and paper however my designs often adapt as I'm creating which results in individual pieces. Depending the design i will always endeavour to repeat especially with my popular designs that utilise gemstone beads.
